Dear Parents,

Field Day is this Friday, 5/12, from 1:00-3:10 p.m. Please make sure that your child wears their class shirt that day. Also, they are needing volunteers at the stations, so if you come to walk around with your child, we may need you to help out at a particular station. Please send a change of clothes and a towel with your child because their clothes usually end up wet by the end of the day. They are welcome to wear hats and sunglasses, but any sunscreen needs to be applied at home. We will be eating in the cafeteria that day, and the cafeteria will only be selling sack lunches.

STAAR Tests on Monday and Tuesday

Dear Parents,

The STAAR Math test in on Monday, 5/8 and the STAAR Reading test is on Tuesday, 5/9. Parents are not allowed to eat lunch in the cafeteria with their child on either Monday or Tuesday. Thank you so very much for sending in the STAAR encouragement letters. We had both smiles and tears! The kids loved receiving notes from you. There is no spelling test, reading log, or reading passage homework next week. We did send home a fun homework letter with the kids telling them to relax and have fun. The kids have worked hard all year long and they are ready to show what they know! Thank you again for all your help and support!

STAAR Encouragement Letter

Parents:

If you have not already sent in your child's STAAR encouragement letter, please send it in by tomorrow, 5/3/17.

We have a list of at least 20 staff members who have offered to write letters to students whose parents do not send back a letter.  We told them we would let them know on Thursday.  However, we know that receiving a letter from you will be much more meaningful than receiving one from a random staff member.

The original letter to you, a blank letter to fill out for your child, and an envelope for returning it, all went home in last week’s Wednesday folder.  If you have misplaced it, please go to the link on my Edlio page and print out a copy of the blank letter to fill out. Place the letter in an envelope with your child's name on the outside, and return the envelope to your child's homeroom teacher

Thank you for your help and support!
