My name is Jessica Hulett. I graduated from Missouri State University and then I moved to Texas about 18 years ago. I have a daughter in 8th Grade at Willow Wood Jr. High, and another daughter that is a sophomore at Tomball Memorial.

I taught Kindergarten in Spring ISD before being a stay at home mom for 8
years. This is my 9th year at Willow Creek as a Kindergarten teacher.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Nin for 19 years.
I also have a Basset Hound named Lucy. We are going
to do so many fun things in school this
year! I look forward to having you in my classroom.

*Attendance is a very important part of your child's education. Please make sure that they are at school every day by no later than 8:40. I can not teach them all they need to know if they are not here.
Thank you for your continuing support!!!

If you need to contact me, you may email me at jessicahulett@tomballisd.net,
write me a note in your child's daily folder,

This week

We are supposed to start computer Lab tomorrow and I still have only gotten headphones from about half of the class. If you have not sent them in yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Our Open House is Thursday 5:30- in the cafeteria for the PTO meeting and then in the classroom at 6:00. If you bring your children with you, they will have to sit next to you and be very quiet. It is basically a meeting so I can discuss classroom discipline procedures and curriculum. The children will not be allowed to play in the classroom. It is better to leave them at home if possible.

Also, I am sending a note home today about collecting environmental print for a class project so please check your child's daily folder.

Thank you and I hope to see you Thursday!

Sept/October updates

On Sept. 19th, we will have a Spirit Night fundraiser at Marco's Pizza. I sent home boxes with directions yesterday for decorating. Please send them back no later than Friday.
I also need to have student's headphones turned in as soon as possible so that we can go to the computer lab. I really prefer headphones instead of ear buds unless they are used to using them.
I would love to have some parent volunteers help out in the computer lab for at least the first month that we go. We go on Tuesdays from 11:50-12:35.
If you would like to volunteer for this please send me an email and also make sure that you have a background check on file. You can go to the TISD website to do so. If you have any questions about it please call the office and ask Bethany Mulvey for more details.
Parent conferences will be coming up on Friday October 6th which is a half day. The students will have off Monday the 9th as well. If you can not come during the day on the 6th, please let me know and I can try to schedule you at a later date and time.
Our library day will be on Thursdays.

Classroom Donations

We are in desperate need of wet wipes for the classroom. If anyone could donate, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a great weekend.

I hope I find you all safe and dry after this tragedy that our city has endured. If you are home and safe, and your kiddos get bored, we are making a project next week with our names.
I will read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and the kids will make a palm tree and glue their names on it. If you would like to get a head start, please have them cut out just the letters to spell their first name from a magazine. It is best to use titles or headings so that the print is bigger. When they are done, put the letters in a ziploc baggie and send it with them in their daily binder.
Have a good week!

It was a great first week of school. I am so glad to have all of you as a part of my Willow Creek family.
I have updated my pages to reflect the new curriculum for the year, and a wish list of some things we could use for our classroom.
I hope you all stay safe during this storm. I will use this website as a means of communication throughout the year.
My email is jessicahulett@tomballisd.net if you need to contact me.
Thanks and have a good weekend.

Class shirts

Wear your class shirts tomorrow. We will be signing them at the party. It has been a great year and I will miss you all. Have a wonderful and safe summer!

Reminder for tomorrow

Tomorrow is the Teddy Bear Picnic. Please bring your teddy, or other stuffed animal, (small enough to fit in a backpack). It is also a good idea to bring a beach towel to sit on for our picnic.
Snack should be in a brown bag or Ziploc baggie. Thank you!!

Field Trip reminder

We are going to the Oil Ranch on Friday (5/19)!  We will be sending a paper copy of reminders on Thursday in the binder, however here is a heads up!

A few things to remember:

  • Wear your “Hulett’s Hound Dogs” class shirt! This helps us keep track of each class.
  • Wear closed toed shoes for safety. Watch the weather and dress your child accordingly, old tennis shoes might be a good idea.
  • Put sun screen/bug spray on your child before they come to school.  We are not able to apply them at school.
  • Send a sack lunch.  Send your child a disposable sack lunch with a drink in a zip-lock bag. Make sure their name is on both items. Please don’t send backpacks or lunchboxes on Friday.  Do not send your child’s binder.  It is important that everything is disposable since we are having an outdoor picnic and do not want to have to keep track of additional items. Those that have ordered a school sack lunch will be taken care of, you do not have to do anything.
  • Be on Time! Have your child at school by 8:30. We are leaving school promptly at 9:00! We will not be able to wait for students who are late.
  • Snack Time.  For those who are returning to Willow Creek for the remainder of the day, please bring a snack for the afternoon.

If you want to take your child home after the field trip you must first come back to the school and sign them out at the office.  This is a new district policy.

Mrs. Hulett

Please remember to have the kiddos wear their Hulett Hound Dog shirts for Field Day!
Also, we are coming back inside to eat lunch in the classroom since it will be hot. Parents are not allowed to stay in the room and eat with us. Sorry!
If you are taking your child home after Field Day, you will need to go to the office and check them out.
Last, all library books and home readers are due tomorrow!! Please send them back if you have not already.
Thanks so much for all you do.
I hope to see you tomorrow.

Field Day

Field Day is Friday, May 12th!  Thank you very much for all the people who already committed to helping out at field day.  Unfortunately, we do not have as many helpers as we need to have a successful day.  If you can help, please e-mail Brenda Spedden at brendaspedden@tomballisd.net. We are needing help from 8:30am-11:15am and 12:30pm-3:15pm.
Thank you

Library change

We will be going to Library on Thursday since we are out Friday. Please send your child's book back tomorrow. Thanks and have a Happy Easter!!

Snack Reminders

First of all- Thank you so much for the classroom supply donations.
I have 24 rolls of paper towels, so I am good on those for the year!
Snack Reminders-Lately there have been lots of kiddos bringing juice,
Capri Sun, cupcakes, candy, pudding, and fruit cups for snack. I've also seen students bringing 3-4 packages of things to eat for one day.
Please remember that snack is no longer than 10 minutes. They should only have water and a clean, easy to open snack. They should not be bringing anything that requires a spoon to eat. It is getting very messy and I don't have time to clean the tables in the middle of the day while we are working.
I really don't want any drinks besides water. They can bring the other drinks for lunch though.
Some suggestions:
Crackers, fruit snacks, cereal bars, squeeze and drink applesauce, or dry cereal
Thank you for your cooperation and have a great week!

Class Prize

We earned a class prize from filling their good behavior marble jar.
Tomorrow, Thursday March 30th, they are allowed to bring a small toy, stuffed animal, or doll to play with.(No weapons or toys larger than their backpack please).

Happy Spring!

Welcome back!
I hope you all had a restful and fun Spring Break.
I am in need of a few classroom supplies to last us until the end of the school year.
If you would like to donate any of these items it would be greatly appreciated.
-Paper towels
-Wet wipes
-Hand sanitizer
-Thick markers
-Plastic sheet protectors
-Small treasure box toys
-Jumbo Ziploc bags(larger than gallon)
-White cardstock paper
Also we will have Field Day, and our class Field Trip coming up in May.
Information will come home in April about them both. If you want to volunteer for either, or both you will need to go on the TISD district website and fill out a background check. If it is not completed prior to the events, you will not be allowed to volunteer, and we would love to have you for these events.
Have a great week.
