Name the Rover Challenge!!

If you are a K-12 student in the United States, your challenge is to name NASA’s next Mars rover. Submit your rover name and a short essay (maximum 150 words) to explain the reasons for your selected name. Be sure to review the RULES for all challenge details and entry requirements, including the privacy requirement of NO PERSONAL NAMES in your submission so that your entry may be posted in the public gallery. The Mars 2020 rover will seek signs of past microbial life, collect surface samples as the first leg of a potential Mars Sample Return campaign, and test technologies to produce oxygen from the Martian atmosphere to prepare for future human missions. More background information about the Mars 2020 mission is provided in the education resources.  Click on the link to learn more!

GT Parent Engagement Nights Fall 2019

Parents are welcome to attend one night or both nights.  Each night provides information, tools, and strategies for supporting gifted children.  The focus will be ‘When Gifted Kids Don’t Have All the Answers’ ~ You will discover the tools to support gifted students’ social and emotional growth just as much as their intellectual and academic strengths.

GT Parent Information Night

This meeting is for current GT Parents or parents who want to know how to have their child tested.

Please join us at the Northpointe Intermediate Cafeteria on September 17, 2019 from 6:30-7:30. GT Specialists from Northpointe, Oakcrest, Willow Creek and Lakewood will be there to answer your questions and present information about the TISD Gifted Education Program. Parents from Willow Wood and Tomball Memorial are welcome to attend to learn how their child can be tested for GT. Hope to see you there!
