Hi everyone! I've been teaching art to elementary students since 2001 and I still love seeing students get excited about art making! Being creative can take many forms and I like to help children explore lots of ways to make and learn about art.
I have four grown children and three granddaughters. My greatest joy is having them all nearby because we we are very close and like to spend time together.
I love to travel as well. In 2019 I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) educator workshops in Hong Kong.
This summer I attended the second training for Great Expectations and I really believe in this program. Students at WCES are caring, helpful, polite and ready to learn! It makes teaching art even more fun!
Personally, I love to draw, paint, weave, sculpt, and make prints from various objects. I also design and create costumes and sets for theatrical productions. I love to cook and bake everything from bread to cake. If I can instill a love of learning about art and art making in your child I will feel like I have met my goal.
Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.
