Robotics- First Lego League (FLL) Team- Walther/LaFountain
Description of club: FLL is for our 4th grade students. Join our mission into the 30th season of FIRST®! Prepare for blast off, break out of your earthly constraints and go INTO ORBITSM.
The 2018/2019 FIRST® LEGO® League season will transport your team into space, where you’ll explore, challenge, and innovate in the vast expanse of space.
Days/Time club meets: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:50-5:00 (sometimes later). Parents must provide transportation for Robotics tryouts and all Robotics practices.
Requirements (if any): Robotics members must attend every practice because this is a team effort and we need every member present in order to be productive. Students must commit to the entire year of Robotics because each team member is vital to our success.
How will participants be selected: Students will audition to participate. Only 10 students can be selected for our team. Teacher recommendation, passing grades, and good behavior are also required. If your child is already involved in extracurricular/ school activities, Robotics may not be suitable for them, as it is a big commitment of time.
Any special events your club will participate in: Each FIRST LEGO League season culminates with regional tournaments and championships where teams show off what they learned and invented, and compete with their robots. Some teams earn an invitation to FIRST LEGO League World Festival as part of FIRST Championship Houston.
