I graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Elementary and
Special Education. I am married with three children and have two beautiful grandchildren. I
taught school for four years before I started my family. I was a stay at
home mother for sixteen years. This is my 13th year teaching 3rd grade
Math and Science at Willow Creek.  Teaching your children Math and
Science is very rewarding, but mostly I love getting to spend a school year with
your child watching them grow and learn!

Way to go Wildcats! Those Run Wild donations are really rolling in!

In honor of Presidents’ Day, and our long holiday weekend – we thought it would be fun to have a little Run Wild Challenge!  We are calling this the 50 states challenge!  Let’s see if our school can get donations from each of the 50 United States!  Right now we have donations from 14 states – California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennesse, Texas, and Utah!  Reach out to your friends and family far and wide, and ask them to support you in your fun run – even a $1 donation will get their state on the board.  The student that brings in the most money, from the most states by Tuesday, Feb. 17, will win a FREE RUN WILD T-SHIRT! (If the winner has already purchased a t-shirt, $10 will be added to their classroom total!)

Please Read!

Tomorrow we will not have a timed multiplication test!  The practice that was sent home was on the 2's,3's,4's, and 6's.  We are only going to focus on the 4's!  Please have your child study only the 4's and I will test them early next week.  Sorry for the confusion!  Thank you and have a nice evening.

Good afternoon!  I hope everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend.  I am in need of glue bottles.  We do a lot of gluing in our INB notebooks and we are running very low.  If you could donate some to our class I would appreciate it.  Thank you so much.  Have a great day!

These are the dates for the upcoming district timed tests.  Please practice each factor on its own in preparation for the Friday test. At the end of this quarter, students should have all their multiplication facts memorized.  Their Multiplication and Division word problem test is tomorrow, they had brought home a practice guide on Friday.  Please have you student return it tomorrow whether it's complete or not, so we can review before the test.  Thank you, happy Monday!!

Upcoming Tests:

1/17 - x2, x4 (double the 2's facts to solve your 4's)

1/24 - x 4

1/31 - x3

2/7 - x 6

2/13 (Thursday) x2, x3, x4, x6

2/21 - x7

2/28 - x8

3/5 (Thursday) x 9

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  How great it was seeing all the smiling faces back at school today ready to begin their second semester of 3rd grade!  We will be finishing up our Multiplication and Division Unit and test next week.  However, please have your child practice their facts everyday!  Next week the district timed test will be on the 2's and 4's.  Most of the students know these facts well but they need to be proficient in all their facts by the end of third grade.  Thank you for your support in helping them learn their multiplication facts!
In Science we will be starting our Soil and Natural Resource Unit.  We will be doing a lot of fun activities and experiments, so your child will really enjoy this unit!
Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts I received for Christmas, I appreciated every one of them!  I love teaching your sweet child and look forward to a great 2020!

Good afternoon parents,
Today your child will bring home a study guide to complete on multiplication and needs to be returned Wednesday Nov. 20th.  This will help them get ready for the test they will have on Thursday Nov. 21st.  As you know we have started our multiplication unit and your child has been working very hard representing facts in many different ways.  But I can't say it enough, "It's Wise To Memorize" those facts!  10 minutest a night should do it!  Thank you so much for your support and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Upcoming Tests

Good morning,
Your child will be bringing home study guides today for a Science test on Monday, November 4th.  Also a Math study guide that they will need to complete for a Math test on Tuesday, November 5th.  Please have your child bring the math study guide back to school by Monday 11/5.
Please have a happy and safe Halloween!

From: Math and Science Class

Good afternoon,
I can't believe we're on week 5 of school!  Lots of great learning is going on, I sent home today a study guide for our Science test on Friday.  Please encourage your child to look over it this week before Friday.  Later this week I will be sending home a study guide for our Place Value unit.  The test is on Tuesday, September 24th.  Also this Friday is our first timed test on doubles with subtraction and addition mixed.  Ex:  8+8=  16-8=
Your children are a pleasure to have, we are having a great time! Please email me with any questions you have.  Have a great week!

Friday Lunch

Good afternoon,
Our class won Marco Pizza night so that means we get a pizza party!  It will be this Friday, 3/8/19 during our lunch time (12:15-12:45).  We will eat in our room, I have water bottles to have with their pizza.  If your child would like other things to go along with the pizza it is fine for them to bring it to school.  If your child does not want pizza, they are free to bring their own lunch, or buy in cafeteria and they will still join us in the classroom for lunch!  The kids are excited for a fun day of Run Wild at the Creek and Pizza for lunch!  Email me if you have any questions.

Hello Parents of Mrs. Herriman’s Class!

You’re invited to the Valentine's Day Card Exchange Party on February 14th at 2:45pm. The kids will be exchanging valentines (the cards will already be passed out and in each child’s decorated bag), opening and reading the valentines, and creating ice cream sundaes!

Thanks to your initial donations we have purchased the ice cream. We have everything else covered for the sundae toppings, paper products, and drinks.  We hope that you can come and enjoy this celebration with your child.

Thank you!

3rd nine week math fact sequence

Happy 2019!  So happy to be back with your sweet kids!  We are now representing Division and seeing the relationship with multiplication.  However, the memorizing of our facts is ongoing.  I've attached the fact check schedule for the 3rd nine weeks.  Please keep studying with your child!  Happy New Year!
