My name is Jessica Hulett. I graduated from Missouri State University and then I moved to Texas about 18 years ago. I have a daughter in 8th Grade at Willow Wood Jr. High, and another daughter that is a sophomore at Tomball Memorial.

I taught Kindergarten in Spring ISD before being a stay at home mom for 8
years. This is my 9th year at Willow Creek as a Kindergarten teacher.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Nin for 19 years.
I also have a Basset Hound named Lucy. We are going
to do so many fun things in school this
year! I look forward to having you in my classroom.

*Attendance is a very important part of your child's education. Please make sure that they are at school every day by no later than 8:40. I can not teach them all they need to know if they are not here.
Thank you for your continuing support!!!

January Updates

Parents, Welcome back!!
I hope you all had a great Christmas Break. I just wanted to let you know about a few things coming up. We do not have a working water fountain in our room right now.
The district is replacing several of them so in the meantime, please send your child with a water bottle.
I am in need of the following supplies:
paper towels
large bottles of hand hanitizer
We have next Monday off for MLK Day.
Library-I had several students with library books out. There are notes in their binders if they are missing a book. Please send them back so that they are able to check out a new book.
Thank you and have a great week!

This week

Friday is a half day and also pajama day. The students may bring a small stuffed animal and a blanket to use for that day. If you are coming to eat lunch with your child that day we eat at 10:00 instead of 10:30. Thanks and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Supplies Needed

Parents, I'm in need of a few things if anyone would like to donate:
Christmas or Winter stickers
stencils for art station
popsicle sticks
paper towels
Clorox wipes
Thanks and have a great week!

Important Info

This week we are doing rock investigations. Today only 2 kids brought a rock. Starting tomorrow every student needs their own to do our Science work. Please send in your rock on Tuesday.
Also, I will be sending home reader bags. I have tested all reading levels and books will come home starting today. Please read 2-3 nights before sending them back. I will not send home a harder book until your student is retested and passes the next level. They have to be able to read and comprehend what they are reading.
If they are reading their book quickly, it is because we have already practiced it at school in their group.
I will re-test levels in 2-3 weeks. Thank you and have a great week!

Don't forget to send all items needed for the feast by Thursday. You can come Friday and join us. The Feast starts at 2:45 in the cafeteria.
Also, we are starting a unit on rocks after Thanksgiving, so please have your child bring in 1 rock to investigate no later than Monday Nov. 27th.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

This week

If you have not sent in items for the food drive, please do so Thursday and Friday. We only have 5 items for our class so far. Also, Friday is the Letter parade. Please dress your child in their outfit for school. We start it at 9:00, so they need to come dressed. If they want to bring clothes to change into later, that is fine too.Remember, they will get an oops in PE if they do not have tennis shoes.
Thanks and have a great week!

Boo Bash

There is still time to submit items for the class baskets!  The last day to submit items is Wednesday, October 18th.   Items can be dropped off at the school to the attention of Joycelyn Ray, PTO or sent to your child’s homeroom.

Stay tuned for an email next week announcing the opening of the online auction site for items that you can bid on prior to the onsite auction.  Please direct any questions that you may have regarding Silent Auction donations to Joyce Ray at AggieIL@sbcglobal.net.

Boo Bash- Saturday, October 21st from 5-9 pm at WCES!

pumpkin carving/ donations

I would love some volunteers to come help with pumpkin carving and, or to donate a pumpkin. I need about 5-6 pumpkins and would love as many parent volunteers as possible.
We will carve on Tuesday the 31st around 1:45-2:30. Please let me know if you are interested.
Thank and I hope you had a great, long weekend.
Mrs. Hulett

This week

We are supposed to start computer Lab tomorrow and I still have only gotten headphones from about half of the class. If you have not sent them in yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Our Open House is Thursday 5:30- in the cafeteria for the PTO meeting and then in the classroom at 6:00. If you bring your children with you, they will have to sit next to you and be very quiet. It is basically a meeting so I can discuss classroom discipline procedures and curriculum. The children will not be allowed to play in the classroom. It is better to leave them at home if possible.

Also, I am sending a note home today about collecting environmental print for a class project so please check your child's daily folder.

Thank you and I hope to see you Thursday!

Sept/October updates

On Sept. 19th, we will have a Spirit Night fundraiser at Marco's Pizza. I sent home boxes with directions yesterday for decorating. Please send them back no later than Friday.
I also need to have student's headphones turned in as soon as possible so that we can go to the computer lab. I really prefer headphones instead of ear buds unless they are used to using them.
I would love to have some parent volunteers help out in the computer lab for at least the first month that we go. We go on Tuesdays from 11:50-12:35.
If you would like to volunteer for this please send me an email and also make sure that you have a background check on file. You can go to the TISD website to do so. If you have any questions about it please call the office and ask Bethany Mulvey for more details.
Parent conferences will be coming up on Friday October 6th which is a half day. The students will have off Monday the 9th as well. If you can not come during the day on the 6th, please let me know and I can try to schedule you at a later date and time.
Our library day will be on Thursdays.

Classroom Donations

We are in desperate need of wet wipes for the classroom. If anyone could donate, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a great weekend.

I hope I find you all safe and dry after this tragedy that our city has endured. If you are home and safe, and your kiddos get bored, we are making a project next week with our names.
I will read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and the kids will make a palm tree and glue their names on it. If you would like to get a head start, please have them cut out just the letters to spell their first name from a magazine. It is best to use titles or headings so that the print is bigger. When they are done, put the letters in a ziploc baggie and send it with them in their daily binder.
Have a good week!
