Welcome to Mrs. Sefcik's 4th grade class!
This is my third year at Willow Creek and my third year of teaching. I grew up in Tomball, starting at Decker Prairie Elementary and graduated from Tomball High School in 2010. I began my studies as an educator at Angelina College on a softball scholarship. After 2 years, I continued my softball career at Concordia University Texas where I received my degree in Elementary Education (EC-6th) in May 2015.
The rest of my family is from Tomball as well. My husband graduated from Tomball HS in 2011, then went to the University of Texas in San Antonio on a baseball scholarship. My sister graduated from THS in 2013. She just graduated from Sam Houston State University this past May and will be starting her first of teaching at Magnolia High School as a Math teacher. My brother graduated from Tomball this past Spring, and he will begin his first semester of college at Lonestar this Fall.
I have been working with children all my life and have always wanted to become a teacher. My goal is to create a safe and secure environment for students to express themselves and feel inspired. I want learning to be an exciting and enjoyable experience in order to promote life-long learners. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to an exciting year with everyone!

Writing Boot Camp!

Next week, 4th grade ELA teachers will be conducting our second annual Writing Boot Camp. During this time, students will be mastering TEKS that will be covered on the writing STAAR test on April 10th. To make it motivating for the students, we will conduct a simulated boot camp learning environment. Roll calls, cadences, missions and much more will be part of the expectations for this fun unit of STAAR prep. Students may wear camo, hats, and bring a “canteen” of water each day. War paint will be provided each morning. As a culminating activity, on Friday the 6th, students will have earned the opportunity to play Capture the Flag where they enter “enemy territory” and try to take their flag. Popsicles will be handed out for their hard fought battle. This is a week of learning that students will not want to miss!
