Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten!  I am so excited to be a part of your child's education!
My name is Lauren Dozier, and this is my third year to have a classroom of my own. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of arts in elementary education and am certified to teach pre-k to 6th grade. I myself am a Tomball Cougar and am very proud of that.  I graduated from Tomball High School in 2010.  I love this district and this community.  I have taught at Willow Creek Elementary and Tomball Intermediate School.  I am excited to see what this year beholds!

Many Blessings!
Mrs. Dozier

The kids will be exchanging valentines (the cards will already be passed out and in each child’s decorated bag), opening and reading the valentines, and creating ice cream sundaes! I really hope that you are able to join us to celebrate! The PTO will be providing Ice cream for the students, but still need some parent donations to help make our party a success! If you are willing & able to donate any of the items we need for our party, please visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050f4faca92da20-mrs

Please note that we do not have access to store any of our party items in a refrigerator, so please only sign-up for cold items if you are able to bring the item(s) directly to the party or send them in a cooler.

Foam Stickers

Heart/Valentine Themed Stickers

Hearts (punch outs, doilies, etc)

Labeling Valentines – Please have your child label his/her Valentines with their name so the other students know who it is from.  There is a limited time to pass out the Valentines so I do not encourage writing friends names on the Valentines.  We have 22 students (12 girls and 10 boys).  If you are sending in Valentines please make sure there is one for every student and brought to school by Tuesday, February13th.

Some things coming home for the weekend!

#1:  A leaf note:  If you and your child will collect some leaves over the weekend, and place them in a baggie that would be wonderful. We will be studying and talking about how they look, measure them, sort them, and use them in our writing.

#2 ABC Parade is taking place on October 27th, and it is going to be a super fun day!

I am sending a note that has your child’s favorite letter that they have picked.  You can dress them up in anything that starts with the letter.  I wrote it in pencil, in case your child wants to change their letter after talking about how they dress up.  It can be a simple, or over the top costume!

They will get to show off their costume to the whole school.

I will be dressing up as Minnie Mouse and will have a D on my shirt that stands for Dozier and Disney (our Kindergarten theme this year.) Please do not dress them up in anything “scary.”

Please let me know if you have questions,

Thanks,

Mrs. Dozier
